Crock Pot Apple and Chocolate-brown Sugar Corned Beef & Cabbage – this like shooting fish in a barrel and delicious version of the archetype Irish dish is perfect for your next St. Patrick'south Solar day celebration or a cozy dinner anytime!
St. Patrick's 24-hour interval is next week, then I thought I'd share some other Irish (or Irish inspired) recipe. Last week I shared my hearty and delicious Dull Cooker Guinness Steak and Blackness Bean Chili, today I take another wonderful condolement food recipe — Crock Pot Apple and Brownish Sugar Corned Beef & Cabbage. My version of this classic Irish dish includes carrots, onions and potatoes, has a hint of sweetness, and is fabricated in the slow cooker.
I love corned beef, and when I came beyond the original version of this recipe in a cookbook, chosen Fix-It and Forget-It Recipes for Entertaining: Irksome Cooker Favorites for All the Year Circular, that my mom had given me, I knew I had to make information technology. The recipe defenseless my eye considering it called for apple juice and brown sugar, which I thought would go well with the corned beef and cabbage.
It sure did! The start time I made this dish, I was so delighted by how delicious and easy it was, that I made it again that same week. The meat and veggies are so tender and flavorful and the sweetness from the apple juice and brown carbohydrate actually complements the corned beef and cabbage nicely.
A side annotation well-nigh the weather state of affairs here in the Boston area — nosotros did not suspension the snowfall record concluding week, we are brusk past less than 2 inches.
I have to say I'grand ok with that, I'm set for this snowy wintertime to be over and for jump, and some warmer weather condition to begin. In fact, the temperatures did reach the low 50s °F here yesterday and are getting in that location today. Snow is actually starting to cook and I was able to go for a run without a hat or gloves, the first time I was able to do so in many months, yay!
Of course, nosotros are in the calendar month of March where anything can happen weather condition wise. And more snow is in the forecast for this weekend, then we withal have a chance at breaking that tape. And so, I'll but have to make do with the mini-oestrus moving ridge and glimpse of spring like temps nosotros are experiencing at present and brace myself for the possibility of more snow. {sigh}
I similar to serve this Crock Pot Apple and Brown Sugar Corned Beef & Cabbage with a dollop of Dijon mustard and a sprinkling of caraway seeds for a chip of tang and crisis. A slice of Irish Soda Bread with Caraway Seeds and Raisins in the perfect accompaniment.
This Crock Pot Apple and Brownish Saccharide Corned Beefiness & Cabbage is the perfect meal for a St. Patrick'due south Mean solar day celebration or would be wonderful for a cozy Easter dinner or a Dominicus supper any fourth dimension of twelvemonth.
